We had a special visit from Noah's grandfather (Papa) from North Carolina. The student's had such a wonderful time and he made a special handout for you to discuss with your child about fire safety. Thanks so much to Noah's Papa for allowing our class to have such a great, personal experience. They will remember it forever! Cobb County Schools is dismissing 2 hours early. Dismissal is at 12:20. I will follow the inclement weather form you filled out at the beginning of the year.
We have done so many fun things with the Gingerbread stories. We have read all different versions and compared the texts. We have tasted gingerbread men and built a tally graph and a graph on the Graph Club computer program. We graphed which part of the Gingerbread man we ate first - the head, the arm or the leg. We also had a great time with our in house field trip of The Adventures of the Gingerbread Man puppet show. We have learned and written about moose for informational writing. We then read the story Mooseltoe by Margie Palatini. I have attached a link HERE if you would like to watch it. We had fun wearing moosetaches and decorating our antlers. We also had fun putting mustaches in order by length to build a Christmas tree and measuring them with unifix cubes. The Friday before Thanksgiving Break, Kindergarteners participated in a Turkey walk. We walked the school with our turkey callers. I am guessing some of you ENJOYED the turkey callers all week - sorry!!! I think they looked so cute! Your children did AMAZING and worked so hard to practice their songs. I am so proud! It was wonderful to celebrate with you for our program and special lunch. Thank you to all our Veteran's for your bravery and service to keep us safe! We appreciate you and your families.
