On Thursday, we enjoyed a visit from a published author, Danny Schnitzlein. He wrote a book called, The Monster Who Ate My Peas. He also wrote The Monster Who Did My Math and Trick or Treat on Monster Street. We are very thankful to Cobb EMC, our partner in education, for sponsoring this activity. Our students really enjoyed it and worked hard to create their own monsters!

On Thursday, October 27th, our class will join with thousands around the United States and enjoy the story, The Bear Ate Your Sandwich.
You can follow the link for more information and to read the story online to enjoy it again and again. https://www.jstart.org/campaigns/read-for-the-record With a busy week and a change in our schedule, the students were happy for a little time in Developmental Centers at the end of a tiring week. We had a great time celebrating Columbus Day. Mrs. Lowe, our computer lab teacher, had already taught them many things about Christopher Columbus. We were able to make the 3 ships, the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. Thank you to Logan, James, and Baptiste's parents for donating and helping out and to our room moms for coordinating the sign up. High Touch High Tech came to help us learn about Fabulous Forces yesterday. We learned... -A force can be a push or a pull. -Gravity is the force that pulls things down and helps things speed up (like cars and marbles). -Friction is the force that makes things stop and makes more work for you to push a cart. -Round things like to roll. We also worked in 5 different centers that showed 5 ways things can move. 1 - straight 2 - zig-zag 3- around and around 4- speed up, slow down 5- back and forth Please talk with your children about what they learned. |
